Launching ceremony Patrol Boat 60M for CUSTOM designed by Terafulk Ship Design

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) as part of the Ministry of Finance has the function of border management and community protection, guarding borders and protecting the people of Indonesia on smuggling and illegal trade.

DJBC realize that not only needs to be an increase in the number of fleets, the waters of Indonesia also needs to be monitored by patrol boats qualified in terms of quality. On that basis, in addition to a fleet of patrol boats above, DJBC is currently adding 16 units of patrol boats.

In the event Handover and Test Fast Patrol Boats at PT Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyard, Surabaya, Friday, October 23, 2015, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro hope the new fleet's presence adds to the strength of the field officers to muzzle law violators in the waters of Indonesia.

Inaugurated the new fleet is Ship BC 60001 and 60002 BC production PT Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyards, Fast Patrol Boat type with a length of 60 meters. Two units of the patrol boat is equipped with new technology, namely Water Cannon, Direct Launch RIB, and Anti Corrosive ICCP Systems. Additionally, patrol boats with a range of 3638 Nautical miles (Nm) or the equivalent of 6,737 Kilometers to reach all areas of Indonesian waters is also equipped with Helicopter Pad that allows helicopters to land on this ship.

Director General of Customs and Excise, Heru Pambudi explained that the two ships will be operated in the western and eastern sectors of the base Tanjung Balai Karimun and Pantoloan. "60001 BC were placed in Tanjung Balai Karimun for smuggling vulnerable point in the Straits of Malacca to Natuna Islands, while BC 60002 in Pantoloan because second vulnerability is in the Strait Karimata, in the northern Gulf of Bitung, as far as the east toward Papua," said Heru.
